Raquel Nieves is an associate in the firm’s scripted film and television group. She represents actors, writers, executive producers, showrunners, directors, producers, production companies, executives, and multi-hyphenates in the motion picture, television, and media industries.

Upon graduating from law school, Raquel joined Ziffren Brittenham as an associate in the firm’s film and television department where she represented individual and production company clients in the film, television, digital media, publishing, live stage, music, and sports fields.

Raquel has also worked as a business affairs executive at 20th Century Television, a division of The Walt Disney Company, where her business affairs training and mentorship enhanced her negotiating skills in the evolving world of television and streaming.

Raquel’s background in talent representation and studio business affairs well positions her to anticipate issues on both sides of a transaction. With early experience at Jerry Bruckheimer Films, Abrams Artist’s Agency, 21 Laps Entertainment, and in entertainment litigation, Raquel has held many positions in the entertainment industry and brings a distinct perspective to representing creative talent. As a law student at Loyola Law School, she served on the Student Bar Committee, Latina Law Society, and the Entertainment & Sports Law Society. She is a member of the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association and Langston Hughes Bar Association.

A former pre-professional ballet and modern dancer, Raquel is deeply committed to representing artists and to the issues that underrepresented artists and voices face.

As a certified yoga instructor, avid runner, powerlifter and dancer, Raquel believes “movement is medicine.” In her spare time, she enjoys teaching, exploring history, the arts, and live shows in Los Angeles, and spending time with her husband and their two Yorkshire terrier guard dogs.
